It took just four minutes for Josie Parks to give LREI the lead against Leman Manhattan. The team would hit three more times in just the first half, including a rocket from midfielder Sarah Katz that would prove to be the game winner.
Downing York Prep means that LREI are undefeated so far this season in the ISAL. York Proved to be scrappy, but ultimately fell to a dominating performance that the Knights will draw confidence from.
In the last game of the 2019 regular season LREI faced Dwight at home knowing first place in the ISAL was on the line. After a thumping header put them in the lead in the 13th minute the Knights went on to win the game and the league with one of their best performances of the year.
Cassidy Moskowitz got her eleventh and twelth goals of the season, and LREI took care of business in their third straight league win this season. Leah Maathey, Mia Schulte, and Jane Olsen also tallied in the victory.
LREI took a very early lead, but Brooklyn hung around long enough that an equalizer right before the half kept them in it. Although it took until late in the game the Knights were eventually able to secure a massive win.
LREI were forced to overcome injury and illness in their first ever meeting with Loyola. Playing 80 minutes with no subs they posted a come-from-behind victory behind goals from Cassidy Moskowitz and Sarah Katz.
Against FASNY, who until this season has been a league opponent, LREI struggled to close midfield gaps, and succumbed to long ball breakaways. 8th grader Cassidy Moskowitz had the Knights’ only goal.
LREI found themselves down at the break despite creating most of the best chances in the game. But they broke out in the second half, with Olivia Roederer and Josie Parks providing the assists for a Cassidy Moskowitz hat trick, to walk away with all 3 points.
Both Josie Parks and Cassidy Moskowitz hit the net twice, and senior Olivia Roederer added one of her own to give the Knights a convincing win, and a little redemption from last season.
